Cinque de Terre - A place from my dreams

I must say that Cinque de Terre (pronouced chin-kue-te-re) is one of the most beautiful places in the world I've visited. It is definitely one of the most beautiful part of Itly. The views are amazing with colour houses narrowly and tall-ly built, (about 5 storeys) on mountain cliffs with the blue sea just below.... and when the sunsets (which we manage to witness), the place just turns magical. There are 5 towns that made up the area but we stayed in Levanto, a bigger town just after the 5th town. Trains connect each of the towns but you could also do walks between the town.
The place reminds me very much of Mamamia...with the many steps and narrow roads....boats, little cafes, smiley people

Corniglia

Manarola

Monterosso

Riomaggiore (our fav)

Vernazza

We did a walk between 2 towns, and on the way...there is a tunnel with grafitti, and heaps and heaps of padlocks on the railings. No idea what it means but I think it's a sign of "togetherness" as there's a sculture of a girl and a boy there.

The walks between town can be quite secluded and at one of the section...Mr T asked me to keep guard while he....erm....relieved himself....SHHHHHH!!!!! That's our little secret :)

We had a lovely, lovely time enjoying the area (highly recommended to anyone who is thinking of visiting Italy) ......finished the trip with a romantic dinner at one of the restaurants in the area...lovely meal with baked fish, potato and a cute waiter :)
