The boat ride is another touristy must-do in Paris, they have boats running the whole day but I reckon, night time is the best time to do this trip. We went on the tour quite late at night, and the boat ride was full of young American students on a tour, so we had a very young atmosphere.
The boat went under the many Paris bridges- first time we realise that there are just so many bridges in Paris. This might be the reason Paris is dubbed the most romantic city in the world, not because of Effiel Tower, but because of the many bridges and paths along the river. We could see some lovers enjoying themselves in the privacy of underneath the bridges, but we could see them in full view from the boat. J
On some of the bridge, there will be a statue and water levels can be measured using these statues. For example, currently the water level might be at the foot of the statue but during the flood season, the water level could reach the ears of the statue.
We also saw Notre Dame, the Lourve, the Effiel Tower and many other famous buildings from this different view from the river. Seeing Paris city from the river, I wonder if the Lady and the Tramp cartoon was set up in Paris – very similar background, very romantic.
