Museum hopping in New York

Apart from being a big city....New York is also know for its many museums......some of them more famous that others.....We bought the New York City Pass (recommended by us) and wanted to use up the whole buooklet.....so we visited serveral museums!

MOMA (The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA)
I enjoyed this museum the most......probably because some of the art was quite cool..Very modern and contemporary......it is definately worth a visit. ..

Metropolitan Museum We got the previlege of seeing the ALEXANDER McQUEEN: SAVAGE BEAUTY exhibitionb (which we had to queue more than half an hour to see)..

The American Museum of Natural History
This was our least favourite museum....just had too many stuffed animals...much prefer to go to a real safari!!!!

A day in Paris without Ms D

With Ms. D back home in Malaysia (for uncle funeral).......I went out my merry way to cover more places that was part of our Paris-Pass (which gave us free access to many attractions for free)......had Adele with me for most of the days that Ms.D was away (like 4 days) and thses were some of the places we visited...

Basilique de Saint-Denis
A church again full of dead kings (Paris version of Westminister Abbey).....where the kings of France and their families were buried for centuries and is therefore often referred to as the "royal necropolis of France".

Sacré-Coeur Basilica

This churc is set on a hill on a higher part of Paris.....if you don't want to pay to go visist all the great viewing places like the Arc De Triomphe, Eiffel Tower or Notre Dame) then you can come here.....be careful of the dodgy people around the church as I found the area where the church is in one of the more not so great places of Paris (not dangerous) but not very nice.

Musee De Orangerie & Orsay Museums

A smaller museums than the Louvre....but quite nice. It was here that I decided what type of Art that I liked......paintings from the 1800s from Claude Monet, Pierre-Auguste Renoir and Edgar Degas are probably my favourite.....

The grounds where the Orangerie museum lies is Jardin Des Tuileries. One of the well know parks of Paris......notice how Parisians love every ordered!
