Everyone says the only thing worth seeing in Florence is Michaelangelo's David. There a statue of David that Michaaelangelo created, made out of just one single piece of rock....and its the largest statue of its kind during its day...hence is so famous. The sculpture is really very detail, with even each muscle and vein showing very clearly. The real David is a big WHITe statue, and although its "no photography allowed" Mr T manage to "accidentally" capture this swiftly on his phone.
We do have a story to tell of how we went around Florence looking for "David" and ending up at the wrong "David". There was a replica of the real thing made and placed on top of the highest hill in Florence. It's not made of white stone, but bronze instead, which over time...turned green. We were misled on this wrong trail to climb up steep hills (like many many many KMs of walking to get to the top of the hill), got ourselves lost several times reaching the top, to finally to be greeted by a green David. Being the novices that we are...we actually kinda half thought it's THE DAVID (but was suspicious as we always knew it was suppose to be indoors)..... Ah well....since we are here and have walked all that way...we have to take some pictures of the "not real david".
Every cloud has a silver lining....and our silver lining to the terrible leg ache that we suffered is this view over all of Florence from the top of this mountain. You just GOT TO HOLD YOUR BREATH for a view like this......i guess worth going through the pain for.
There are a couple of other attractions in Florence..like its famous PAPER CHURCH (that's just my name for it coz it looks as if the church is made of paper), and this cute little shop that we found many adorable souvenior from.
