This is a walled town from the medieval days...never crossed my mind that such a place still exist today. There are still several towers and castle like structure, which is now part of an everyday town - protected by a wall surrounding the town. Towers are converted into normal homes / offices / work space - yes, somewhere out there, there are people living in towers as if they are apartments. This town is declared by UNESCO as part of the World's Architecture Heritage.
Being inside the city, is just as beautiful as looking from it from afar. Narrow roads, lovely corners...steps that seems to lead on forever, a lively market, the town church.....very yummy gelato. If I could live like a princess anywhere in the world....this would be the place - locked up in one of the towers, of course . :)
