Lucerne lake is a rather large lake, that separates the main train station and our hotel, and the "old town", where most of the shops are. There's a part of the lake (that's almost like a river as there's constant flow in one direction) , that has been sort of modified to function as a type of dam. Do not really understand the mechanics of how all this works...but I do find this idea really interesting....
Two famous bridges cross the waters.....Chapel Bridge (Kapellbrucke) and Muhlenplatz Bridge....both bridges have full of history and definately are the must visits in this city...

The lake is truly one of the natural beauty of Luzern...:) A good place for photos! From one angle, you could see out into the horizon, and see ships/sailboats that are afar. From another angle, you could see Mt Pilates in the background, with its peak higher than the clouds, and the lake on its mountain foot. Awesome picture-perfect sights!!
We had a lovely dinner one the lakeside of Luzern, in the cold, enjoying the very romantic splashes of the small waves, and the very awesome local Swiss food - a pizza-like dish, which they call "tart", and veal&mushroom spilling out from a pie...YUM!
