Amsterdam is known as a city of canals - much of the city is surrounded by several canals! A boat ride around the Amsterdam canal are a must for tourists – its good way to tour around the city quickly, with many beautiful sights of bridges and old houses, 'colourful flags' and boat houses which are literally homes in boats on buildings. We saw families eating and resting in the boathouses. One thing I notice is that there are heaps of bicycles everywhere in the city.
