The beautiful city of Lucerne and its Fountains

Walking around the city of Lucerne is just like walking around any other European city we have been to so far, except for the fact that cobbled streets are mighty clean! There are the usual chocolate / sweets shops, clothing shops and the likes.

One thing that amazes me thou, is the amount of water fountains they have all over the town - there's one at almost every corner, be it a small, cute almost hidden one, or a big majestic one. AND (now this is the most interesting part), there are people drinking from / filling up water bottles / washing their fruit and vegetables from these water fountains!! It is as if, these water fountains double up as their "water cooler" or "wells" for the citizen of Luzern.

Well, when in Rome do as the Romans do...or in this case, when in Switzerland, do as the Swiss do....so yes, we filled up our water bottle from one of the water fountain...and drank the water....A bit salty I would say, but hey we're still alive and kicking, didn't fall sick...:)
