Walking around the streets of Stockholm

Plenty to see just walking around Stockholm There are some very beautiful lakes around, and some majestic museum buildings. Lots of shopping places around too....and as per most other European countries people seem to know how to enjoy their food and take it easy here - the LLTTF mentality which is lacking in Asian culture...:) (although maybe in light of recent day events.. too much of a LLTTF mentality is not a good thing and cant be sustained for too long - eg Greece and Italy).

We walked to the part which they call "old town" I guess as per the name, the older part of the city...and the place reminds me quite a bit of Rome - narrow streets, cafes / shops along narrow alley ways...Mr T is as usual very attracted by the 'shops'....and looking for souvenirs to bring home.

We had tea in one of the cafes which is rather interesting as the dungeon is used as a floor....Very dark with not a single window / opening in sight...I felt a bit claustrophobic, eating in a place of pure darkness, the only source of lights are from the candle flame.

There's also a big grand palace here, which we didn't enter because I think we've gone into enough palaces in our various visits. We did however manage to see the changing of guards ceremony, and have the fantastic time of listening to the royal band play. That's quite a spectacle - they play in the palace grounds, and later marched out of the palace into a more public space....and continue playing there! Wow....and to think, unlike in London where you have to squeeze and push and be squashed just so you could see the plan at the royal palace, here, there's plenty of space for everyone...and plenty of time to take photos!

As per other European countries, the churches here are amaing - they have amazing decoration and just very pretty interior, and they are mostly free to enter. :)
