Walking around the city, we saw the very famous small black statue of a little boy pee-ing. This statue, the 'Manneken Pis', is the most famous statue in Brussels and is something like the 'face' of Brussels although I can't understand why. It's really small, and yet so famous. They have it on their brochures and magnets....and many shops in Brussels want to have their own 'Manneken Pis' to attract customers. :)

We headed into Brussels Centre where all the nice old buildlings are conglomerated in a big square, with a flower market right in the middle of the square. Good spot for photos! This is where the Grand Palace and some museums are located.
We visited the insides of a random church, and just like everywhere else we've visited in Europe, every random church that we visited is so pretty and grand inside!! It's like a most normal and ordinary church in Europe can by far beat even the most famous and elaborate church building in Malaysia.
We also made our way to Justice Palace (Palais de Justice), which is located on slightly higher grounds. To get there, we had to go up a lift and walk across an overhead bridge that is built purposely for people on the roads at the lower grounds to get to the higher ground. The Justice Palace was closed for renovation so we couldn't get it, but from here, we had a very good, almost birds-eye view of the rest of the city.
Earlier in the day, there was a wet market set up just in front of the hotel. We had an enjoyable time being one of the locals, buying food and fruits at the market.
There happen to be a fun-fare set up on the intersection just around the corner from our hotel – very happening with heaps of rides, games and food stalls set up. We spent quite a bit of our spare time there, just walking around, eating Spanish doughnuts, more mussles and playing some kiddish games trying to win toys. Forever young…even for the over-50s aunties J
