How do you even pronounce this Icelandic city's name?
Our hotel is very strategically located at the edge of city centre. We were housed in the rooms in the roof!! Had quite a few bumps walking around the room going about our daily affairs.
Iceland, hmm, very unlike the rest of Europe...its much newer, reminds me more of Australia, or even the States. Small low rise buildings in most of the town, except the Lutheran church, Hallgrimskirkaja, right opposite our hotel which sticks up tall. It is the largest church in Iceland and we could see it from our little attic window. :)

We tried to cover the top 10 spots of Reykjavik...... and yes, you can cover it all in a day. :) The lake with heaps of swans, the new glassy building that is like the 'conference centre' and all the little crafts/ designer shop in town.

We ventured to the Perian (The Pearl) on foot - a long walk, to enjoy the view of Reykjavik from the viewing platform, and to have a bit of dressing up fun at the Viking Museum :)
