The Statue of Liberty and Immigration

Visiting the Statue of Liberty was another interesting day for us. The lines to the ferry was not too long (as we went before midday) and once again it was due to the security checks. We only found out that you could actually book to go to the flame of the statue if you pre-book many months in advance but we were happy to just visit the famous green statue!!

After the staue of liberty, the ferry took us to the 'Ellis Island Immigration Museum'. This was where we learnt about immigration into the United states and learnt about the stories of many who dared to take the chance to try and make USA their new home. This place was the gateway to the USA and many got through....but many were declined mainly due to failing their health check.
